Venlafaxine is the generic form of the brand-name medication Effexor. It is an antidepressant used to treat depression and certain anxiety disorders by increasing serotonin and norepinephrine levels in the brain.

Founded in the early 1990s, Rising Pharma distributes more than 87 drugs in the U.S. In 2019 it was purchased by India-based Shore Suven Pharma. Manufacturing locations were not readily available.
